Parents are important to know about SIDS (Sudden Infant
Death Syndrome) and how to prevent SIDS. SIDS is sudden death of an infant
while sleeping. It required a pretty good awareness of when your baby sleep in
order not run into an incident that can cause a fatal SIDS. There are some
tricks and tips how to prevent SIDS :
- Avoid placing objects such as bottles, toys, bolsters, and so on because it feared could disrupt the respiratory tract and blood circulation while moving freely during sleep. Keep objects cleanliness that frequently used or come into contact with the baby.
- Do not sleep in the same bed without adequate protection from the falling, kicked, hit, and others. Should separate the baby from the parents in their own special bed for baby but still one room with parents.
- Do not smoke near the baby because it may increase the risk of SIDS (Sudden infant death syndrome) in infants. Should stop smoking while pregnant and breastfeeding both fathers and mothers (parents of infants). If parents out drunk or extremely tired do not sleep next to the baby. Parents should be alert and responsive when your baby cries awoke from his sleep to calm your baby.
- Put your baby in the supine position for easy breathing freely. Avoid the prone position and sims position that disrupt his breathing thus increasing risk of SIDS.
- It is better your baby sleep use baby box separate from the parent bed with a mattress that has a flat surface and not too soft to be able to sleep in a stable. Do not be put to sleep on the couch, tables, chairs, etc. and then left or go to sleep.
- Making Your Baby Comfortable. Keep the room environmental conditions in accordance with the comfort of the baby. Clean rooms, baby box and baby equipment regularly to maintain hygiene and avoid disruption of animals or insects. Keep the room temperature comfortable for the baby that is about 21 degrees Celsius with sufficient oxygen. Give hood / protective cover if necessary when many mosquitoes.
