Coffee contains antioxidant- reduces risk of cancer

The scientists calculate the amount of antioxidant content (anti free radical) on more than 100 types of food including vegetables, fruits, nuts, various spices, oils and beverages. The discovery are then combined with the existing data in the U.S. Department of Agriculture and donations of any kind for the average diet in the United States.

Coffee proved to be the biggest source of antioxidants of any time and level of consumption of black tea followed, bananas, dried beans, and corn.

Americans obtain sources of antioxidants than coffee consumption compared to other types of food or drink and so far there is no kind of food or drink coffee to match, said lead researcher Professor Joe Vison of Scranton University in Pennsylvania.

Either caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee both contribute the same level of antioxidants. Agency market analysts Mintel notes of coffee drinking behavior in the UK who said the level of coffee consumption was lower than in the United States, accounting for only 47 percent of British people who regularly drink coffee or instant coffee powder.

Antioxidants help the body rid the body of harmful free radicals, destructive molecules that damage cells and DNA (blue print of the smallest living cells). An anti-free radical element is associated with a number of advantages and benefits for health including protection against cancer or heart disease.

The research results show that the benefits of coffee can reduce the risk of liver and colon cancer, diabetes type II and Parkinson disease. But, Vinson suggested that coffee consumption remains at the moderate level of the one or two cups per day.

So, enjoy your coffe :)
